EXTRA! EXTRA! GUFF MAGAZINE LAUNCHING BITICHIN’ BAND PROFILES FOR HALIFAX MUSICIANS

The east coast’s newest free local music source, GUFF Magazine, wants to help the music community by providing affordable, professional band profiles in print and on the ‘net.

One of the hardest things for bands breaking out is getting solid media coverage that’s more than a show or album review. While any reputable media coverage is sweet, those brief write ups usually only provide the public with lip service. We here at GUFF Magazine want to provide something more in-depth and profitable for the bands in our city.

GUFF will be printing  5,000 copies of a 32 page, high gloss traditional style magazine, which will be distributed to retail outlets, small businesses, universities/colleges, venues, bars, cafes and restaurants in the HRM and surrounding communities. We also anticipate out-of-province cities such as Moncton, Charlottetown and Fredericton will also carry the magazine. Our website, www.guffmagazine.com, sees an average of 250 hits per day with an audience of local, national and international readers alike.

The GUFF’d profiles are reserved for 100 per cent Haligonian musicians. We want to take the production, distribution and design costs out of your band’s budget and make it easy for fans, new and old, to check out your digs.

Profiles include but are not limited to: a high resolution picture, caption and a 600-700 word write-up on the band or artist. Furthermore, any additional information or initiative (mp3s, free/paid downloads, videos, giveaways etc…) will be attached to each profile and linked on our website. At $150 a pop, think of it as an affordable alternative to the traditional media kit or ad campaign. The profiles will be featured in the first issue of GUFF Magazine this fall (launch date TBA), as well as on our website and social media pages.
